Long Jump and Triple Jump
total-play Ltd can install long and triple jump run-ups and landing pits to meet the objectives, competitive standard and budget of the client. The facility can be built to incorporate permanent wooden jump boards or moveable jump boards, housed in galvanised steel troughs, to provide a great solution for systems to be used for both long jump and triple jump.
Typical dimensions for run-ups can vary, but are generally between 30-40m x 1.22m with a build up of 100mm excavation and retained by either concrete kerbs or treated timber edging.
Landing pits, meanwhile, are typically 7m long x 3m wide x 0.3m deep. They are lined with a permeable membrane, finished with a sport specific, non-staining white sand and are built using rubber topped concrete kerbs (Huration kerbs) to ensure they meet with the latest safety guidelines from national governing bodies.
Long jump and triple jump systems can be finished with a range of surfaces that include Polymeric (rubber crumb), Redgra and Carpet.
High jump fans and landing areas
total-play is able to install complete facilities for high jump; providing landing mats, uprights, bars and wheeled metal covers in addition to designing and building fans and landing areas. High jump facilities are typically 10m in radius, created using concrete curbs and paving slabs, with a landing area of 5m x 2.5m.
Discus / hammer circle and safety cage
Discus and hammer throwing facilities, including circles and safety cages, are another track and field facility that total-play is able to install. With dimensions typically comprising a 1.25m radius circle constructed from 100mm of smooth concrete contained within steel ring, a drainage hole is incorporated to ensure the facility is suitable for year-round use. We are also able to provide safety cages that range from free standing for entry level sport through to international standard cages, complete with opening gates.
Shot put circle and landing area
Shot put facilities typically consist of 1.057m radius circle constructed of 100mm smooth finish, mesh-reinforced concrete contained within a steel ring for ultimate strength and stability, along with a wooden stopping board. The finish of the concrete surface is essential to provide the ideal environment for rotation and glide throwing techniques; something in which our industry specialists are well-versed. Landing areas - or fans - can be constructed using treated timber edges to comply with UKA and IAAF guidelines and finished with a dynamic stone layer.
